Puget Sound English Springer Spaniel Association
Breeder Referral
An objective of the PSESSA is "to encourage, promote, and protect quality, responsibility and welfare in the breeding and ownership of purebred English Springer Spaniels, and to do all possible, through member and public education, to bring their natural qualities and working abilities to perfection."
Our club members are encouraged to follow the Guidelines for Responsible Breeders as provided by our parent club, the English Springer Spaniel Field Trial Association.
We encourage prospecitve new owners to visit the ESSFTA's national Breeder Education and Referral Program (BERP) for helpful information about this breed and finding a new companion for your family.
Responsible breeders will openly share health testing results with you. Here are some helpful links to confirm passing health certifications for dogs who meet the minimum age requirements for the various health tests.

Please note:
The PSESSA provides no express or implied endorsement of the breeders listed. It remains the responsibility of the individual to do their own investigation and evaluation of the breeder, any puppy (or puppies) and the information provided.
It is advisable that you visit the breeder (if possible) before purchasing a puppy; this allows you to see how the puppy interacts with littermates and his mother, to see the conditions under which the puppy has been raised and to see health certifications on the parents of the puppy.
You should be prepared for the breeder to provide a contract that will state your responsibilities as well as those of the breeder. Typically, a contract will discuss any guarantees provided and spay-neuter requirements, if any. You should also discuss with the breeder how to care for and feed your puppy when you take him home.
YOU DESERVE A QUALITY PUPPY FROM A RESPONSIBLE, ETHICAL BREEDER.
